An ode to an ocean

Where does such calmness come to you from?

To you – so blue, so deep, so quiet

Undiscovered secrets you contain, yet you’re so serene

Is that what about you that haunts a poet?

As far as my vision reaches out to

I see no land, I see no sky

When I am caged, tied up in the real world,

Here, looking at you, all that my mind does is fly.

The roar of your waves, never ending;

So eager they seem, in a quest for something

Standing on your shore, my life seems riven in two –

I am on one side, and on the other end is everything.

It’s just me – with each breath, every pulse

Alike you – with each wave, every tide

Such profundity somehow leads me to a simple world,

Blend my secrets with yours – everything in you I confide!

A word in private…!

That’s the beauty of it! Sometimes it is unbearably delightful, sometimes it is intolerably painful. And every so often there is such a thin line between these two feelings that you can never know what you are actually feeling! It is sometimes like a tiny brook that flows with all its poise and composure but sometimes like a mighty waterfall that comes down with all its mighty ire. At times it’s like scenery that you could imagine to be true only on a postcard! Sometimes it’s like a desert where the Sun burns with all its rage – unforgiving!

It is something that touches everyone’s life. It is something that, to me, has always remained a mystery…

Love…!

I have always wondered why it is so hard to define love. Over the years, being on a roller coaster ride of my own, I have come to understand that the whole fun is in the fact that it cannot be defined. Maybe love isn’t love once it’s defined. All my life I have tried not to stick to any kind of cliché, but this is the only one that I would merrily settle for! I have always been amazed by pretty much all the emotions that whirl around love.

I have seen and heard and read the love stories that would make you cry, the ones that would make you smile. Some might bring laughter and some would stir your soul. The stories that portray all the drama that is behind finding “The One”; tears shed in the journey, hearts broken, joys found… Some stories have the “happily ever after…” ending. And there are stories that have tearful ending. But all in all, hope is what is important… hope that makes you want to push the limits, hope to move on in life and to find that ludicrous, unruly, absurd love that is still out there! 🙂

When I chose to write about love this week, I had a thought. It was not just the love between a man and a woman that I wanted to write about. Every love story is unique. Every relationship is a book by itself. The love that’s between a father and a son, a mother and a daughter, families, the love that binds the best of the friends in the world, the love that a soldier is heaving with while laying down his life for his nation, the love that so many people possess for their pets… It’s fascinating to see the force and passion with which people are driven by love.

I dedicate this write-up to everyone who is in love…not necessarily with a person, but with an idea, a dream, a thought…anyone who is in love with LIFE… 🙂

There are those relationships that will last forever and a day. There are those that last for a few minutes, but still remain special till the end. Maybe we discover ourselves more and better in the process of searching that one person who we think can complete us. And maybe the relationship that we have with ourselves is the best of all… 🙂

P.S. I am in love! 😉

With LOVE
